IBASHO, the Wrack Line Vol 1
Art, Poetry, and Marine Science integration, IBASHO explores our sense of place in relationship with the intertidal ecological communities of the Salish Sea. Experiencing the sensations as knowledge of the ocean, tastes, temperature, and buoyancy motivate us to value remedies for distressed ocean conditions.
The handshake between the land and the sea are ecotones of explosive biodiversity at the edges where the wrack line feeds both shorebirds and fish fry. Wrack feeds the food web, nourishing shorebirds and baby salmon. Wrack lines left at high tides remind us of the justice impact of rising sea levels. The wrack lines connect us as the wrack line wraps the world.
The art consists of floating ink designs (suminagashi paper marbling) and illustration combined digitally.
